Alopecia: The Truth No One Talks About

Hair loss is never just about hair.

It’s not just what you see in the mirror. It’s what happens in your mind when the brush fills up. It’s the way your heart sinks in the shower.

It’s the moment you find yourself Googling “what did I do wrong?” at 2 am with tears in your eyes. If you're navigating alopecia, unexplained hair loss, or any form of female hair loss, this post is for you. Not the filtered, quick-fix version of the story. The real one. The one no one talks about.

Because I know. I’ve lived it.

The first thing we all want to know is what causes it? Often, because we quickly want to fix things. To feel normal. To have our full head of hair again. The truth is, alopecia and hair thinning can be caused by so many things — hormonal changes, autoimmune triggers, chronic stress, trauma stored in the body, nutrient deficiencies, even ancestral grief. And so often, it's a combination of many of these. But while everyone rushes to fix it from the outside — with supplements, shampoos, oils, and endless appointments — no one talks about what it does to you on the inside.

What it does to your heart ~

Hair loss in women carries so much unspoken pain. We don’t just lose strands. We lose confidence. We lose the image we had of ourselves. We start hiding — under hats, behind excuses, behind forced smiles.

The inner dialogue is brutal:

  • “What’s wrong with me?”

  • “Am I still beautiful?”

  • “Will people notice?”

  • “Will they think I’m sick?”

  • “Will I ever feel like me again?”

And underneath all of it, there's often this unbearable pressure to stay positive. To keep it together. To not seem like we’re spiralling. But the truth is: it’s flipping hard. Emotionally. Spiritually. Energetically.

What no one tells you ~

Hair loss can unravel your identity, your self-worth, and your sense of control. But with the right alopecia

emotional support, it can also become a doorway into deeper healing — if you’re supported. You don’t need another fix. You need to feel held. You need to feel safe enough to unravel the emotions you’ve been bottling for far too long — the grief, the shame, the fear, the constant internal scanning. You need space to feel what this has meant to you. And you need someone who sees what’s happening beneath the surface. What most women don’t see is that, as hard as alopecia is, it can also become your greatest gift. As a woman, if you can hold yourself and feel confident in this space, then you will be able to feel confident in most other spaces you might find yourself in life, too. This is an invitation. To soften. To feel. To allow yourself to be seen and held. It takes you beyond what you see in the mirror.

This is where I come in ~

I am here to hold a sacred space for women navigating alopecia and hair loss — not to fix you, but to walk beside you as you come back to yourself. In our 1:1 sessions or group circles, we feel into and integrate the emotional weight. Not just to release it. Not to toss it to one side like it doesn’t matter, but to give it a space so it can breathe (and so that you can breathe again too). We regulate the nervous system. We clear shame. We untangle the beliefs that tell you your worth lives in your hair. And we gently return to the truth: You are not broken. You have just been carrying too much for too long, and carrying it alone.

Whether you're newly experiencing hair loss or you've been quietly carrying it for years, you don’t have to walk this path alone. If you want to book an intimate 1:1 session to reset quietly in a sacred space, then click here for personalised support, energy healing, and emotional release. If you’d prefer to be held in a group setting and join a soft, supportive space for other women on this journey, then click here

Your beauty hasn’t left you. It’s just waiting to be re-remembered.
